3 Motivating Tips for Bloggers

Updated: Oct 12, 2021

What are the three keys to motivation when blogging? What can you do to make sure you stay on track with all your blogging goals, especially when you want to generate an income?

Losing motivation is a real problem for many bloggers. I know exactly how it feels to have no income and feel like blogging is a waste of time. But, in those moments when the struggle is real, you can recharge, get inspired, and keep going.

In this post, I'm sharing my top 3 tips to help you get through the rough patch and move forward with your blog and brand, especially if you want to turn it into a small business. I love the fact that blogging is a work-from-home opportunity that gives me lots of creative freedom.

FIRST AND FOREMOST, INSPIRATION.

Staying motivated and developing oneself requires inspiration. Your motivation level will never be high if you are not interested in your business, and you will not be able to sustain interest for very long.

The thing is, you need to believe in yourself, your brand, your writing skills, and the power of your blog. I mean that you need to find value in your blog before expecting others to.

Examine your current level of inspiration. Are you looking forward to blogging, or is it something you dread every single day? Do you find writing hard? Do you hate making Pinterest Pins?

Don't hesitate to outsource micro-tasks to others. Sure, it costs a bit of money, but you can save money and time in the long run. If you hate designing pins in Canva, then you can always buy Pinterest templates on Etsy! They are easy and fun to customize.

You'd be shocked at how many people choose a blogging niche that appears appealing on paper but does not pique their interest in the least.

Because you lack the motivation or enthusiasm to keep them going during the difficult times as a small business owner, you get bored and uninterested really quickly.

If you dislike your "job," consider how you might refocus your blog better to suit your interests and that of your readers.

Write everything down on pen and paper

Keep a pen and paper accessible; how many times have you had a brilliant idea or plan for the blog, only to forget about it when it comes time to write it down a few hours later?

I recommend a sturdy hardcover notebook that you keep on your desk or bedside table.

Make sure you don't forget things. Keep a notebook with you at all times so you can scribble down ideas as they come to you. For some reason, I get some pretty good ideas at night, and I have a thick notebook and a pen near my bed, and I like to jot things down fast.

Read blogs and read about blogging

Read; books and articles about blogging, small businesses, and creativity are always helpful. Collect data on how to grow your blog, gain more readers, and keep motivated.

Even if they are in completely different niches, they can still be useful in establishing your home-based business.

Also, visit other peoples' blogs and read some articles on a regular basis. This will help you develop better blogging skills. Don't copy, but get inspired by what you read!

SECOND, GOAL SETTING

Setting short-term and long-term goals is critical for any small business and blog owner. You would have no success on the road to self-improvement if you did not create goals.

How could you be motivated if you aren't sure where your blog is heading?

Take the time to write down your objectives. A business plan may appear intimidating, but it is simply a set of goals, strategies, plans for implementation, and a budget. Make your own business strategy and keep it up to date at least once a year.

A successful blogger will have a clear, simply written out plan for the future.

Include both short-term mini-goals that can be completed in hours, days, or weeks, as well as longer-term grand-goals that could take years to complete. This strategy should be referenced throughout the year.

Break the important tasks down into mini-tasks, known as micro-tasks.

If you want to be more productive with your blog, I recommend reading productivity books like Dana A. Gold's Overcome Procrastination.

Can a business plan, on the other hand, actually help you stay motivated? Yes, of course.

You will feel more professional and connected to your blog if you have written goals. It will also relieve you of the need to rethink your business objectives daily.

Remember that streamlining things and keeping it simple helps relieve you of stress.

THIRD COMES NETWORKING

Networking with other small businesses and bloggers is another important component in staying motivated. Nobody has all of the information.

I like to check Facebook groups for bloggers and see what other people are doing, recommending, and trying. You can find out about great products and services that help you save time.

When a group of people starts working together, however, the challenges will be right in front of them, waiting to be overcome.

Working alone is, in fact, one of the most difficult aspects of becoming an entrepreneur. You will never be able to achieve self-improvement without the assistance of others. Mutual encouragement is energizing.

Connect with others in your community or online to make things easier for yourself. Even if your blogs are unrelated, you'll typically discover similar ground and opportunities to collaborate. According to many successful bloggers, finding the correct networking group was a turning point in their business's growth because they could connect with like-minded people more easily.

Sharing ideas, skills, and experience is also an important part of self-improvement and motivation.

When the pressures of owning a business become too much, your own personal team of fellow bloggers can help you re-energize.

You can do more in less time with the help of your networking team, and you'll probably have more fun doing it. When you know you're not alone, you'll be more motivated to improve yourself.
